Ir WAI Chi-sing

Ir Wai Chi Sing has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Hung Shui Kiu Industry Park Company Limited as one of the non-official directors since 1 June 2026.  He also serves as the Founding Chairman and a Director of the Construction Charity & Caring Centre Limited.

Ir Wai is an engineer by profession.  He joined the Hong Kong Government in August 1980, and has since served in the Transport Department, the Highways Department, and the former Environment, Transport and Works Bureau.  He was the Director of Highways from November 2006 to June 2010 and was Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) from June 2010 to April 2015 before retirement from the Hong Kong Government.  He was subsequently appointed as the Managing Director of the Urban Renewal Authority on 15 June 2016, a position he held until retirement on 14 June 2025.

Ir Wai holds a master’s degree in transportation engineering from Purdue University in the United States.  He has professional qualifications in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.  He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Engineering Academy, the UK Institution of Civil Engineers and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
